My name is Karl Perry, I am the Managing Director and Senior Consultant at the Employment Relations Centre. This website is a result of over 14 years of work in employment relations, human resources and employment law. As well as the hundreds of pages of information provided on this site we regularly present custom made workshops to business owners and managers on topics such as Human Resource fundamentals, recruitment, employment law and employment problems, workplace productivity and organisational management.

Getting agreement on the problem is the first step to resolving any business problem! In fact it is not just the first step, it is a necessary step. A short history
The Employment Relations Centre opened it doors in October 2000, the same month and year the Employment Relations Act became law. The vision was to establish an organisation of professional consultants who could "add value to every employment relationship in New Zealand". That continues to be the driving force for the organisation today.
The company has changed shape many times since it began. With the internet becoming more readily available to everyone in New Zealand we saw the opportunity to expand rapidly in 2005 and launched this website in 2006. This meant that we could provide a service to everyone in the country. The first step had been achieved!
With more and more enquiry coming through this website and with the increased acceptance of banking and shopping on-line it was a natural progression to move toward becoming a virtual business and bringing together a number of consultants in various locations through out the country.
We have not stopped yet! With the advent of "the cloud" and it's immense capability a new level of service is possible. A level of service that is almost instant, more effective and more efficient than ever before. Make sure you come back regularily to check on our progress.
