Types of Problems

There are many types of problems that can arise in the workplace. There are specific steps for employers and employees to take to resolve these problems.
 

Misconduct and serious misconduct

Misconduct is when an employee does something wrong either by: doing something, not doing something, or through their behaviour. This may justify some disciplinary action being taken by the employer.
 

Bullying, harassment and discrimination

Bullying, harassment and discrimination must be investigated and the person affected must be supported by the employer.
 

Incompatibility

Where there's a fundamental breakdown in the relationship between two or more individuals in the workplace, so that they can no longer work together.
 

Medical incapacity

When an employee is no longer able to do their job due to illness or injury, it can be a challenging time for both employees and employers.
